Anyway, tonight I noticed that her new tooth had broken through her gum, and was pretty far back. So, I told her that it needed to come out tonight. I think the damage is already done, though - the tooth has broken through the surface, so she'll probably need an appliance at some point. So, I told her that we could do it the old fashioned way, and we went to the laundry room to get some string. I cut a piece, tied it around her tooth, and tied it to the door. She said that she was scared, and I told her that it would be really quick. I then said that I could pull it out with a pair of my crafting pliers, and she opted for that. So, we went upstairs to our play room and I pulled out my pliers that haven't been out of their container since I purchased it some years ago and had her sit down on the floor in front of me (by the lamp so I could see what I was doing!). I pulled a little and a corner came out easily, but she felt her mouth starting to hurt. So, before she pushed my hand away, I pulled a little harder to get it out. It came out all right...and flew somewhere in the room. There were tears from the pain, and a little blood, for a few minutes. She's one tough cookie! I looked for it, but couldn't find the tooth, so she and I will write a letter to the tooth fairy (writing letters takes a long time for her right now) tomorrow afternoon and put it in her tooth fairy doll. I wish my losing Ian's expander was that easily remedied!
Anyway, It will be interesting to hear what she tells whom tomorrow at the Co-op.
Both of Katie's bottom teeth had the new ones growing in the back before the baby ones fell out. They are moving to the correct place! I'm dying to know what the tooth fairy told her! They're such big kids when the teeth start falling out. Yea, Cesira!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I'm didn't know you were a tooth extractor. I don't know if i could of done that. I'm glad it finally came out.se
ReplyDeleteLove the story! I am not looking forward to that drama with Jaylin. How much is the tooth fairy paying these days?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you pulled them out with pliers and she let you! I'm glad it finally came out.
