Tonight, I took Terra to the vet to have her put to sleep. She's had a great 14 years, and it was really hard for us to see her suffering and so unhappy. Ray and the kids were able to say their goodbyes, and I was able to sit with her until the very end. After I got home, I learned that Cesira didn't really understand that Terra wasn't coming home with me. I think she's the most sad, because she's gotten quite attached to Terra over the last year. Ian and Ray were sad, too. And, of course, I am too. It was the hardest decision I've ever made.

ReplyDeleteHow heartbreaking! I had to put Boober and Casa down a year apart from each other. What a miserable experience.
