A new year, and new goals!

I have not blogged in months! I could list my "reasons" like our back up drive crashed, helping Ray after his bicycle accident, helping the kids with their adjustment to their new school, my laptop crashed, holidays, and then there's the family vacations we've taken...but I won't. Oh, wait, I just did.

Anyway, I'm going to list my goals for the year to see what I accomplish! Here we go:

1. Get back to my blog.
-facebook.com certainly is a way to update things quickly, but there aren't any stories to go with it.

2. Make my part of the 'play room' more presentable and USE IT!
-I have so many piles of things to go into the scrapbooks, and scrapbooks minus the things! I am 5 years behind now...

3. See my friends!
-I had so much fun when we went to breakfast on Tuesday morning! When Ray got hurt, I had to stay home, but to turn into a home body?!

4. Spread out my 'to do' list.
-sometimes I have a list of up to 30 things to do. I want to plan my whole week, like I do my menus, so that I can feel like I've accomplished something! Anyone want to make my Christmas exchanges for me? They're still on my list, and living room table.

5. Be consistent with my menu planning.
-If I keep my menu planning up each week, I'll eat the food that I buy at the store instead of having it stock piled in my freezers! I started the 'Eating from the Pantry' challenge on January 4th, and have only been purchasing things that I need (dairy, fruit, vegetables, laundry soap, etc.).

6. Get back to doing something for Shari.
-I really like to scrapbook and read. I have 2 scrapbook weekends planned in the coming months and have also been making time to read those book club books. I am also going to 'host' 7 scrapbook days at one of the libraries here in town for the Vegas Valley Scrapbook Club. "Wahoo Wednesday" is my day.

7. Help my kids.
- It's a constant process. Ian's adjustment to school has been HUGE, and we're trudging along. I am also going to work on Thank You notes with them. I still get reminded that they just need a hug sometimes when they don't even realize it.

8. Spend more time getting to know our neighbors.
-We have lived here for 2 1/2 years, and we still have yet to get to know our neighbors besides the short conversations here and there. I'm also in a neighborhood Bunco group and am looking forward to our first game in a couple weeks - thanks, Barbara!

9. Keep up with the housework.
-That would be easy if there wouldn't be so much clutter in the way!

10. Family
-I talk with my parents weekly, but I really need to talk, write, or even e-mail with my brothers and their families more often. I'm also very fortunate to have my in-laws and need to do the same with them.

Well, that's a pretty good list to work on for the year. Time to go fold some laundry!

  1. That is a great list!! Good luck, you can do it! Out of curiosity...how long can you eat off your pantry stash? Looking forward to finding out!

  2. I know some people say, why make goals if they're just going to break them but I'm a goal maker too. I think it helps.

Good luck with your list and don't forget about your Shari time!

  3. Sounds like some good goals. I've talked about cleaning out my pantry too! I'm excited to hear how your challenge goes.
